St. Peter's Church, est. 1771.  St. Peter's Church has been the hub and heart
of Spencertown for  over two centuries.  Spencertown was purchased from the Stockbridge Indians in 1756 , the first town meeting was held in 1757and the church was organized in 1760 and construction was completed in 1771.   Originally St. Peters was a Congregational Church and remained so until 1824 when it affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.  The church originally stood on the current village green, but in 1926 was moved to its present location, at which time the vestibule, balcony, and steeple were added.  St. Peter's has weathered the ravages of war, flood, and blizzard and today it is a strong and energetic church, deriving its strength from its commitment of God and the spirit of its members.

Its doors stand open, welcoming all.
