The Friends of Historic St. Peter's , Inc.
This community group was founded in 2002 to help preserve and
restore the 1771 meeting house situated opposite the village green and surrounded by the
1760 town cemetery. This building, a community center for the last two centuries, is
listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places because of its
architectural style period. The Friends' mission is to raise funds to repair and
restore this community landmark and, thereafter, to build an endowment fund to assure the
architectural and physical integrity of the
building for future generations.
The Friends has a board of nine trustees, subcommittees for building, fundraising,
finance and publicity, and welcomes
new members. The Friends can be reached at
518-392-3258, or by mail at
PO Box 278, Spencertown, NY 12165.
