Columbia County Solid Waste Station Replaces Bags with Tags. Be Prepared!
Because the County has been experiencing issues with restocking their inventory of County garbage bags from their vendor and because they have not been able to find a replacement vendor, they have decided to change how trash is now packaged to take to the County Solid Waste Stations.
A new ‘tag system’ has started to roll out across the County replacing the different size bags now offered. Bags will continue to be sold until the inventory runs out at which time only tags will be sold. As in the past, PLEASE BUY YOUR BAGS AND TAGS FROM THE TOWN CLERK as the Town receives a portion of the payment price.
The new tag system will consist of 3 different color tags;
- One tag is required for each plastic trash bag
- Tag must be affixed to the bag, either around neck of bag or the bag itself
Garbage tags will be sold as a sheet (5 tags/sheet)
